It’s almost six months since the warm, articulate, and happy sounds of Melbourne, tenor saxophonist, Savannah Blount wowed the audiences at the Lido Jazz Room. The feedback from dozens of delighted patrons who could not believe her big sounds and original ideas.
Of course, iconic Melbourne pianist Bob Sedergreen and the late great Don Borrows OAM (Sydney) recognized. Savannah’s talents even as a teenager. Joining her will be versatile guitarist Nick Brown, whose leaning towards the blues are undeniable. Nick has seen recognition with two consecutive albums spending over six months in the Australian Blues and Roots charts and a top 25 album of the year in the USA’s highly regarded Roots Music report chart.
Bassist Jon Chidgey and drummer Gordon Pendleton are not only friends of Bob who have been working with him for many years in Jazz and Blues projects All three have a natural feeing for the blues and will be the perfect rhythm section for this gig, which is a not to be missed, premier performance.
