An Unbelievable Portrait of The World's Greatest Climber

Adam Ondra, the Czech climber and Olympic competitor, has broken a series of records in his career - whether as a mountaineer or a virtuoso of rocks and walls, he is widely considered the best. In his home country, his fame is unmatched. Invested in training and remorseless body-exercise, there seems to be no end to his ambitions.

The man - often resembling a ballerina on rocks - is always jostling upwards, taken up with a passion to climb that cannot go unnoticed. Eager to capture the life that Adam has forged for himself, filmmakers Petr Záruba and Jan Šimánek have created a documentary that is visually arresting, and physically puzzling. Wavering into surrealism, “Adam Ondra: Pushing the Limit” moves beyond the typical sports documentary, compelling us towards a story about a man in constant motion - revelling in the extraordinary, the ambitious and the death-defying.

Screens with Red Shoes, a short film that animates a European folk tale with artistic force and whirlwind intensity. The village party has begun, and Róza hasn’t been invited to dance - until a stranger, who Róza doesn’t know, gives her a pair of red shoes. Róza starts to dance with great passion, but her performance soon descends into something much darker when she discovers the shoes have a mind of their own.
