Move over hot rodent boyfriends, Crispin Glover is in town.

Glover, one of cinema’s great character actors (if you haven’t seen Willard (2003), we implore you to do your homework), stars as Mr.K, a travelling magician who checks into a grand, albeit rundown, hotel after an uninspiring gig. He’s hardly set his suitcase down before he finds a man under his bed, a cleaner in his closet and an entire marching band emerging from the walls. Mr. K finds himself in a Kafkaesque nightmare in which he can’t find the hotel exit, and his attempts to leave only further entangle him with the building and its curious inhabitants.

You’ll lose yourself in the film’s lush and masterfully confounding production design that turns the hotel into an Escher-like labyrinth of staircases and rooms. Mr. K is a surreal trip with no easy answers and a wildly unexpected third act. You’ll be pondering this one long after the credits roll.
